Akagunduz Kutbay (August 17, 1934, Istanbul - August 27, 1979, Istanbul) , a leading Turkish ney (rim-blown reed flute) player of the 1960s and 1970s, was known for his traditional sound, deep tones (dem sesleri), and interest in jazz, Tibetan, Indian, and other world musics. 

Omer Lutfi Akad (b. 1916) He studied economics. After working in the banking sector as a production chief and accountant, he debuted as a film director with Vurun Kahpeye ("Kill the Whore") (1949), an adaptation of Halide Edip Adivar's book of the same name.

Buhurizade Itri (1640? - 1711), or just simply Itri was a composer and performer of Turkish classical music from Istanbul. Many things known about him today are subject to dispute. His real name was Mustafa, and he was sometimes referred to as Buhurizade Mustafa Efendi.

Sertab Erener (born December 4, 1964) is a Turkish pop star. She is one of the most successful female Turkish pop singers in her homeland, and is considered one of the divas of Turkish pop music. In Europe, she is best known for winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 with her hit song Every Way That I Can, although she has had many other achievements outside Turkey.

The State Opera and Ballet (Turkish: Devlet Opera ve Balesi) is the national directorate of opera and ballet companies of Turkey, with venues in Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Mersin, and Antalya. The directorate is bound to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
