Egg
Plot
Poet Yusuf learns about the death of his mother Zehra and goes back to
his hometown, where he had not been for years. In the ruined house, a
young girl, Ayla awaits him. Yusuf was not aware of his distant
relative, who had been living with his mother since five years.
Ayla conveys Zehra^s will to Yusuf, who has to fulfill. Yusuf is unable
to resist the pressure from the maternal household's chattels, and
everyday habits, the staid rhythm of the province and the spaces filled
with ghosts.
Yusuf and Ayla set off for a saint's tomb, couple of hours away, for
the religious sacrifice ceremony that his mother had pledged. Unable to
locate the herd, amongst which the sacrificial animal is to be
selected, they are forced to spend the night in a hotel by a nearby
crater lake. A wedding ceremony held at the hotel brings Yusuf and Ayla
closer. While the falling snow covers guilt, they no longer head back
to that old town.
